Finally the semester is over, all am doing is filming my documentary video with my group members as well as editing. See you guys next semester.
In todays world of media Documentaries are becoming more frequent. It continues to play important roles in defining, exposing and transforming issues. So, what is a Documentary? A documentary is simple a film that attempts to document life, currently happening in the world or explore what has already taken place. It introduces viewers to ideas, people and experiences they otherwise might not have encountered or challenge them to question what they already know. A documentary is different from a movie due to the fact that their is no script, and the people involved in the film are not typically actors. Sometimes a documentary film uses voice-over narration to describe what is happening in the footage; while images flashing across the screen. It normally includes interviews with people to add additional context or information.
Editing is an art, with hundreds of choices of cuts to choose from in every single 30 second frame. Two of this cut is the “L and J cut.” These cuts is said to be two of the most powerful but simple transitions in editing. So what are L and J cuts?
First of all L and J cuts are used frequently in news reporting.
L cut which is known as a video advance is basically means that the video starts before the audio and vice vera for the J cut which is a audio advances.
Shot reverse shot (or shot/countershot) is a film technique where one camera is shown looking at person 2and another camera showing person 2 looking at person 1.
This film technique implies that the characters are looking at one another.
Is the process of selecting and preparing written, visual, audible and film media used to convey information.

Three Point Lightning Before I begin looking at Three Point Lightning. I will first look at what is Lightning? What is the function of Lightning? It is important that you do not confuse camera angles and camera shots. Camera shots are used to demonstrate different aspects of setting, themes and characters. Camera angles are used to position the viewer so that they can understand the relationships between the characters. These are very important for shaping meaning in film as well as in other visual texts.
